Dr Katherine Bailey

BDSc (UQ), Grad Dip Implant Dentistry (CSU)

Kate graduated from the University of Queensland in 2003 with first-class Honours and spent over a decade serving as a dentist in the Royal Australian Navy.

In 2014, having lived in many parts of Australia and overseas in London, she settled with her family on Raymond Island to enjoy private practice with the wonderful East Gippsland lifestyle.

In 2019 she completed a two-year Graduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry to increase her repertoire of general dental skills. Kate enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is particularly interested in managing Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. She especially enjoys working with the outstanding team at Riviera Dental Care. She is a current member of the Australian Dental Association, The International Team for Implantology and the Australian Sleep Association.

Outside of work, she spends her time with her son, husband, parents, four beloved kelpies and Siamese cat in her ever-expanding garden.

Dr Aaron Bazley

BDSc (Vic)

A Melbourne University graduate, Aaron has over 30 years of clinical experience in all areas of dental practice. Before settling in Bairnsdale, Aaron worked both on the Mornington Peninsula and in the Lake District of England.

Professionally Aaron enjoys the challenge of maintaining older teeth. As we age, teeth and the ways that they are maintained can change, especially with more complex medical conditions.

Aaron has a love of nature and the great outdoors, hence the attraction to East Gippsland. When not at work, he enjoys camping and hiking, as well as sports such as mountain biking or kayaking. Or just as happy at the beach with his three young children.

Sharon Favaloro

Dental Therapy

Sharon has over 30 years of experience as a dental therapist, living and raising her family in East Gippsland. She hence has a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with children and adolescents.

Sharon believes very passionately that a child’s first dental visits have a large bearing on their future dental health, and as such, is very mindful to make sure that any treatment is age-appropriate and children-friendly.

Sharon also enjoys working in more remote smaller communities such as Orbost and Omeo, and more recently with indigenous children in the Northern territory.

Away from work, Sharon enjoys helping her daughters with equestrian endeavours, waterskiing and more recently road biking. Sharon is also a member of the Bairnsdale sunrise rotary group.

We view the health of the teeth and mouth as an important part of total body health.

Unresolved dental problems, such as chronic tooth or gum infections, can spread through the body to affect the heart and other organs, and suppress our immune system response.

As well as treating disease, we try to educate patients as to why problems may have occurred. We like to put in place preventive measures to reduce future treatment needs and increase general well-being.

In 2013 Riviera Dental Care was accredited as meeting new National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

This was conducted by Quality in Practice, an independent assessment body. It is an example of why our patients should feel confident in the level of care we aim to provide.
